The Lillevilla/Luoman ranges of log cabins have excellent insulation properties for use for most of the year. If you intend using the cabin all year round we recommend that you consider installing additional insulation. The optional roof insulation pack consists of a layer of 100mm Rockwool, which is fitted above the roof boards so not to spoil the internal appearance of the roof. An 18mm Stirling board is provided to sit above the Rockwool to provide the correct surface for the roof covering.

If you decide to fit a roof insulation pack, we also recommended you add a floor insulation pack. This consists of 50mm of polyurethane fitted below the floorboards and in between the bearers.

The wood itself has excellent insulating properties so wall insulation is not necessary, especially for the mild UK climate. For customers buying the larger cabins, wall insulation packs are available for cabins with 70mm wall logs and above. These insulation packs consist of 20mm pine cladding with battens and sliding fixings for settlements.
