The Lillevilla 70 model and larger models are capable of supporting the weight of slate tiles. However we would recommend Metro Tiles or Felt Shingles, especially on smaller cabins. These give the texture and appearance of slate tiles, with less weight and provide a cost effective alternative.

Metro Tiles

A Metro roof is light in weight but exceptionally strong and therefore ideal for any of the Lillevilla/Luoman range of log cabins. It looks just like a traditional roof, but is only one-seventh the weight of a traditional tile of slate or clay.



Metroshingle tiles are made from high quality steel coated in Aluzinc ® giving total rust protections and come with a 40 year guarantee. Metroshingle provides an incredibly tough, hardwearing finish, which is light and easy to install. Felt Shingles

Hexagonal felt shingle tiles are very easy to install. They are hard wearing, aesthetically pleasing and many of our customers prefer these to the appearance of a felt roof. They have a 15-20 year life expectancy so provide exceptional value for money. For the Lillevilla 100 model and upward, felt shingles are supplied as standard. For the smaller ranges up to and including the Lillevilla 80 model, the option to upgrade the roof covering to felt shingles is available.
